Navigating Nutrition Entrepreneurship
The Department of Health Studies at American University invites you to join us for an exciting discussion about how to navigate the process of starting your own business in the field of nutrition.

Dr. Trina Ulrich, DHS faculty member, will moderate a panel discussion with our three guest speakers:

Ashley Comparin, MS, LDN, CNS
Ashley is a Licensed Dietitian-Nutritionist and Certified Nutrition Specialist. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Health Sciences from Gettysburg College, Master of Science in Nutrition Education from American University and LDN/CNS, she opened her own weight neutral, insurance-based, clinical nutrition practice, No Broccoli Required.

Marc Steren
Marc is the founding Director of Entrepreneurship at the Universities of Shady Grove and a professor in the Academy for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at University of Maryland College Park. He was also the Co-Director of the Georgetown University Summer Launch Incubator, Entrepreneur In Residence and adjunct professor. Marc has a BA from Johns Hopkins University, a JD from University of Pennsylvania Law School and is currently working towards his Masters in Management at Harvard University Extension School.

Amy Waldman
Amy is the founder of Purée Juice Bar, opened in December of 2011. Amy's inspiration was her own personal journey towards health and wellness via juicing and a raw vegan diet.
